Saturday mornings

Weekly workshops are held in rooms adjacent to the Writers’ Block at Hagley Community College, Christchurch, during school terms from 10am to noon.

Entrances to Hagley Community College are off Hagley Avenue, Waller Terrace and Stewart Street. The closest entrance to the Writers’ Block is in Stewart Street, but this is closed to traffic during the netball season. Those wishing to drive in and park during the netball season should use the route marked with the red arrow shown on the map below.

After school workshops

After school workshops are offered Monday to Thursday from 4.00 to 5.30pm. They are subject to sufficient enrolments being received. Currently running on Tuesdays at St. Margaret’s College, Christchurch.

Classes are small (no more than ten in a group), and are led by tutors who are experienced writers and specialist teachers.

Programmes suited to the age and ability level of each group provide an enjoyable variety of writing challenges as well as the chance for motivated writers to pursue their own projects.

We encourage students to explore new genres and forms, share work with their peers, and develop a self-confident approach to their writing.

You can (1) Enrol on-line, (2) download (then print out) an enrolment form and post back to us, or (3) contact us for more information.
