Speaking 4 The Planet : Speechwriting
We team up with Speaking 4 The Planet to bring you this fabulous FREE masterclass with science educator and award-winning writer, Jenna Heller. Identify the message you want to convey and learn some key techniques towards clear and compelling communication. Prepare your speech now for the Speaking 4 the Planet event on July 1st. It is expected that students enrolling for these workshops will enter the competition.

We are thrilled to have Slam Poetry champ and comedian, Ray Shipley, guide you as you develop a piece of spoken word poetry. There will be loads of really useful tips and ideas to get you started. This book reviewing workshop for keen readers and writers is in partnership with Scorpio Books' new store, Telling Tales. You will learn reviewing techniques from experienced book reviewer and librarian, Desna Wallace, have time to read a book you select and make a start on your reviewing career! Your reviews will appear in Scorpio's new bookshop and on our blog. And yes, you get a free book!

Jenna Heller is an award- winning writer/ poet and amazing facilitator. Jenna is a communications manager at Lincoln University where she spends some of her time teaching scientists how to write speeches!
Ray Shipley is comedian, poet, and book lover. Ray has won the Christchurch Poetry Slam four times, placing third nationally in 2018. What an awesome opportunity to learn from one of the best!
Desna Wallace is a librarian, blogger, book reviewer and writer. She reads a LOT of books!
As well as being an award- winning poet, Gail Ingram is also a sought-after poetry tutor, editor and judge. Her workshops are always full of fun.
