There will be two classes running side by side each day.

 

Places are strictly limited.

Spells, Curses and Enchantments

Use your words and voice to weave magic in poetry and prose.

 

Tutor: Shelley Robinson

Shelley is a former journalist and editor who guides writers of all ages

to find their courage and discover their voice.

Weird Ways with "What If?" 

Starting with the question "What if?", discover ways to mould the answers

into weird and wonderful short stories. 

Tutor: Heather McQuillan

Heather is an award-winning writer of novels for young people, short stories and flash fiction.

Perspectives  

Explore how different perspectives can change the dynamic of your story. 

Tutor: Philomena Johnson

Mena is a poet and verse novelist. Her poetry collection won the 2024 John O'Connor Award.

Create Fantastic Events In The Real World  

 

Tutor: Josiah Morgan 

Josiah (Kāi Tahu, Ngāti Maniapoto) is an actor, drama teacher, performer, facilitator, reviewer, editor, and writer. The Spinoff has named him "One of Aotearoas' finest young writers"!

 

 

All of our classes are fully supervised. We will share our health and safety plans, directions, and guidelines with caregivers before the classes commence. 

 

Young writers need to bring a notebook, pens, ( devices optional), lunch and the courage to get their words on the blank page.
