For young people aged 9-16 who love writing.

​

There will be two classes running each day.

One for younger students (ages 9-12) and one for teens ( ages 13-18)

 

Places are strictly limited. Bookings essential.

 

$50 for one day or $160 for all four days ( + gst)

Spells and Enchantments

ages 9-12

​

Engage with the magic of nature & the magic of language.’

Play with words & cast your spell to change the world.

Explore this wonderful way of storytelling.

Create a connected story through poetic writing

Tuesday, July 8th

 

 Monster and Myth

ages 9-12

​

Create a monster with a complex background

and then become the hero, or the monster, in your own mythical tale.​

Rip sh*t n bust: Found poetry, remixes, black out poetry, zine making.

Poetry with Pics

ages 9-12

 

Combine words and pictures to create stunning artworks and poetry.

Design an original book cover and write poems to start your own anthology.​

In for a laugh?

ages 13-18

​

Explore your sense of humour. Generate ideas for a comedy set and

learn some performance skills. Even if you never intend to do standup, come for a laugh!

Maps and Worldbuilding 

ages 9-12

Draw a map of a fantastic land to discover a whole world of stories within!​

Speculative Fiction

ages 13-18

​

Pick a current issue and speculate where this might go in the future.

Develop key scenes and scenarios for your next spec fic novel!​

All of our classes are fully supervised. We will share our health and safety plans, directions, and guidelines with caregivers before the classes commence.

​

Young writers need to bring a notebook, pens (devices optional), lunch and the courage to get their words on the blank page. ​
