WRITE ON
SATURDAYS
Classes run from 10:00-12:00 Saturdays
We are based at Ara City Campus, Christchurch
or
Online
In our WRITE ON Saturday classes, we encourage students to explore new genres and forms, share work with their peers, and develop a self-confident approach to their writing. We create a supportive community of writers.
Our WRITE ON Saturday Classes, based in Ōtautahi Christchurch, are for writers ages 7 to 19 who love to write. Classes are small and are led by tutors who are experienced writers and specialist teachers.
Programmes, suited to the age and ability level of each group, provide an enjoyable variety of writing challenges as well as the chance for writers to pursue their own projects.
Students are provided with great writing prompts, 1:1 mentoring and redrafting support – with the motivation of possible publication in Write On Magazine, online or through competitions.
We also offer WRITE ON SATURDAY ONLINE classes for writers over 12 years old. This means you can join us from around the country and experience what Write On has to offer. FIND OUT MORE HERE. If your child is aged 9-11 and you are interested in joining an online class please email Heather at schoolforyoungwriters@gmail.com to express your interest.
Please note: We work to extend and enrich each child's writing experiences. We do not teach a beginner programme and it is best if children have at least one year of English speaking, reading and writing experience prior to joining our classes.
