A Walk along Breakneck Road

We've had some fabulous responses to our blog prompts and can't wait to share more. This piece is a response to the Bear Hunt Challenge.

Cailyn from Room 4 ( Year 3&4), Lawrence Area School in Otago wrote this wonderful adventure along the road where she lives.

We’re going on a walk along Breakneck Road with Bella my teddy.

Uh oh wild dogs! Eleven hungry dogs.

We can’t go over them, we can’t go under them, we have to run!

Run faster, run faster, run faster.

We’re going on a walk along Breakneck Road with Bella my teddy.

Uh oh yucky mud! Puddles of slimy mud.

We can’t go around them, we can’t go under them, we have to jump over them.

Jump splat, jump splat, jump splat.

We’re going on a walk along Breakneck Road with Bella my teddy.

Uh Oh a gate! A big huge gate.

We can’t go under it, we can’t climb over it, have to open it.

Creak slam, creak slam, creak slam.

We’re going on a walk along Breakneck Road with Bella my teddy.

Uh oh a bull! An enormous SLEEPING bull.

We can’t go over it, we can’t go under it, we have to sneak around it.

Tip toe, tip toe, tip toe.

We’re going on a walk along Breakneck Road with Bella my teddy.

Uh oh, a river! A deep, fast river.

We can’t go under it, we can’t go over it, we have to canoe through it!

Paddle puff, paddle puff, paddle puff.

We’re going on a walk along Breakneck Road with Bella my teddy.

Uh oh, I’m tired! Time to turn around.

Back through the deep fast river, paddle puff, paddle puff, paddle puff.

Back past the enormous sleeping bull, tip toe, tip toe, tip toe.

Back through the big huge gate, creak slam, creak slam, creak slam.

Back through the puddles of slimy mud, jump splat, jump splat, jump splat.

Back past the eleven hungry dogs, run faster, run faster, run faster.

Back home again, happy and resting after our walk along Breakneck Road.
