BY CLARA LANGLEY, YEAR 7, RAWHITI SCHOOL
Charging around the track
jockey perched over his withers
crowds cheer
commentator talks
fast as race cars they thunder
round the oval track
hooves pound on the grass
the smell of sweat in the air
giving his all for his horse
Come on, his jockey whispered
as they shove through the pack.
We can do this.
