Write On and young writers from local schools were out and about at The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora last week during the Christchurch Heritage Festival.
With three wonderful workshops to choose from ( Ghosts of the Past, Past Present and Future, and Poetry and Place) young writers has plenty of inspiration to discover and write stories and poems. We visited a number of historic spaces including the Teece Museum of Classical Antiquities, Rutherford's Den and Lecture Theatre, and The Great Hall. Students then crafted their work under the guidance of our tutors Melanie Dixon, Heather McQuillan and Gail Ingram.
We hope to publish some of the writing over the next few months.
