Congratulations to all the talented writers that were featured in Write On's 53rd issue! During the launch at Tūranga, Christchurch's central library, on December 12th, we filled the room full of students published, parents, supporters and more. We heard funny and clever poems, heart wrenching stories, and even a book review about our own director's recent book, Avis and the Promise of Dragons.
There were so many phenomenal submissions from students all around the country, as well as from our Saturday classes and workshops. The caliber of submissions was so high that we, unfortunately, couldn't fit everyone in.
That's why, for the next month or so, we'll be running the Honourable Mention series here on the Write On: School for Young Writers blog! For all those students we wanted to fit in but didn't have the page space for (trust me, we even had writing pieces inside the front covers, that's how much great stuff there was!).
