A wide, rough-barked pine tree stands higher than the rest. His branch tips dance a ballet in the wind. Then he plays a game of telephone with the saplings, he tells them his ancient secrets. He waltzes with the old lady pine next to him. And when he’s tired, he tells a story to the saplings, at their request.
Writers create pictures with words. Jillian created her word picture poem using techniques learned at a 'Picture This' workshop with our tutor, Gail Ingram.
'Picture This!' was a Young Writers Workshop run in conjunction with Selwyn District Libraries during Kidsfest and supported by Creative Communities Selwyn.
